Planning Commission

The Planning Commission consists of nine regular members and one alternate member who serve a three-year term. The Commission makes and adopts plans for the physical development of the Municipality, including any areas outside its boundaries, which, in the Commission’s judgment, bear relation to the planning of the City. The Planning Commission meets the 2nd Monday of every month at 7:30p.m. in the Municipal Building.

Police Pension Committee

The designated members for the Retirement Committee for the Police Pension Plan shall consist of the City Administrator and the City Clerk and that the persons holding those offices are hereby appointed and empowered to perform all administrative duties not specifically delegated, by ordinance, to the Retirement Committee.

Seward Rail Campus Committee

The Seward Rail Campus Committee consists of the Mayor, two (2) council members, City Administrator, City Engineer, and one at large member.

The Committee reviews initial design elements of the Seward Rail Campus Development located in south Seward along the Burlington Northern Santa Fe rail line. The Rail Campus consists of a 305 acre tract of land designed for commercial and industrial development with quick access to rail and highway/interstate transportation. Tree Board

The Tree Board consists of five members, who serve a three-year term. They study, investigate, counsel and develop a written plan for replanting, removal or disposition of trees and shrubs in public ways, streets and alleys. The plan constitutes the City of Seward’s official comprehensive tree plan. They meet on the second Tuesday of the month in January, April, July and October at 5:30 p.m. at the Seward Memorial Library.

Zoning Board of Adjustment
